Description

Prussian General Staff Officers' Pickelhaube With the Original Storage Case. Fiber body and visors with silver trim. 5ΒΌ" tall, silver fluted atop a silver cruciform base with four star-head studs. Three of the studs are of the threaded post variety with nuts and washers; one of the studs is of the split pin variety. The silver front plate is beautifully detailed, complete with a large convex guard star and is mounted to the front of the helmet using two threaded posts. There are no additional holes in the front of the body. The helmet is complete with the correct two-piece Reichs and Prussian cockades. The silver convex chin scales are in excellent condition. The leather sweatband is stamped in gilt " Depaheg Patent". Both it and the silk lining are in excellent condition. The helmet is also size marked 58. The storage/travel case is marked on the inside lid with a Strassburg distributor's tag. The case is scuffed and well-worn and the closure straps are missing, otherwise it is in very good condition. This is a superior example of guard's helmet in extraordinary condition.
