Description

Exceptional W. W. Greener Double-Barrel Shotgun. 12 gauge. Serial number 51693. 30" barrels with slightly tapered concave matte rib and ivory beads. The rib is marked "W.W. GREENER, MAKER 68 HAYMARKET LONDON. WORKS ST. MARY'S SQUARE BIRMINGHAM". About 7½ pounds in weight, 46½" in overall length, LOP 14¼" to the Pachmayr rubber recoil pad, DAC 2", DAH 2¾". Case-colored action decorated with lavish floral scrolls. The barrels and action are well-stamped with nitro proofs and other English proofs of the period. This extraordinary shotgun is stocked in beautifully figured and checkered English walnut. The shotgun has the Greener thumb safety on the left side of the stock and double triggers. This is a superb Greener in fine external condition, however one of the transverse pins in the box lock is missing and therefore the triggers are not functioning properly, easily repaired to restore this fine shotgun to its full glory.
