Description
Very Rare Civil War US Navy Enlisted Man's 'Undershirt'. Originally part of Norm Flayderman's collection and obtained with a complete Civil Navy EM uniform. Norm retained this short as the only example he'd ever seen. Light weight fine quality blue wool. Scoop neck with straight cut body, typical of the period, just flaring slightly at the bottom where there is a 1" slit at each side. Entirely hand sewn with decorative cross hatch stitching along all edges. Very fine condition with just scattered small moth holes. Very sound with great color and exhibiting a great nautical 'feel'.
