U. S. S. Maine Hatch Cover. If you want to "Remember the Maine!", here's your chance. We offer a 14" bronze hatch cover inscribed on the front: "Relic Of U. S. S. Maine Blown Up In Havana Harbor Feb. 15, 1898". It has overall verdigris, creating a pleasing patina, lending just the right touch of nautical character. It is quite heavy. We are also selling a bronze memorial plaque made from salvaged scraps of the battleship elsewhere in the sale.We have never seen one of these before. "Down the hatch!" as they say.
