Spanish-American War: Army Philippine Campaign Medal and WWI Victory Medal Identified to Colonel Frank A. Wilcox.

Includes: 1) Army Philippine Campaign Medal, 33-mm bronze planchet with full-wrap brooch. Numbered on the rim "No. 41". 2) WWI Victory Medal with "France" clasp in the original box of issue. The box bears the maker's label of Joseph Mayer, Inc. and is dated 1920. The box also contains a "Pistol Expert" marksmanship badge, veterans' lapel button and the medal bar for the Victory medal. Frank Wilcox graduated from West Point in the Class of 1892. Wilcox died in France from pneumonia on February 9, 1918 as Colonel of the 16th Infantry Regiment.

Condition: The Philippine Campaign worn but is still whole. Another new section of ribbon is included; otherwise it and all examples are in very good condition. Nicolas D. Wood Collection
