Description
Lot of Two Late 19th Century U.S. Military Style Caps. Included is a fraternal or academy kepi with blue wool body, removable gold lace band, and leather bill made by M. C. Lilley & Company, size 7 1/8, incorrectly mounted with an infantry regiment insignia. The cap has a gold chinstrap as well as a leather type. Right side chinstrap button lacking. Accompanied by a Model 1895 cap of blue wool and with a patent leather bill. The bill is crazed and the cap is lacking the chinstrap. Both examples have light soiling and a few moth nips to the wool, otherwise they are in good condition.From the estate of Houston collector Brent Burg.
