Scarce U.S. Model 1816 Socket Bayonet. Standard pattern 16-inch steel triangular socket bayonet with 9 3/8-inch fuller. Marked at base: U.S./SM. Twist-locking system. Overall length: 19-inches.Condition: Very good. Showing scattered wear and grey patina overall. Minor spots of pitting.
