Description

Absolutely Stunning US M1842 .69 Caliber Smoothbore Percussion Musket, Springfield 1849. The gun is absolutely mint, the finest we've ever seen, and quite possibly the finest example extant. 100% original armory bright, the wood with all the original feathering.
All correct original inspector's markings etc. including NJ on the side of the breech. This gun was originally acquired from Bannerman in the early 20th century and recently surfaced in the Binghamton, New York area. A remarkable example and a unique opportunity for the US military longarms collector.
