Painting: Officer on Horseback. Oil on canvas, 34" x 44", attractively framed to an overall size of 41.25" x 51.25". This impressive painting pictures a cavalry officer on horseback. He is wearing a green tunic with khaki riding breeches, a Sam Browne belt, and brown boots. The tunic has a high standing collar and shoulder chains. The peaked hat is blue serge with a red band and gold wire braid for the rank of lieutenant-colonel. The painting is signed in the lower right corner "George Roll_____".Auction Info
