Description
Very Nice 1st model Winchester M1873 Saddle Ring Carbine, #17227, Manufactured 1878. Caliber .44-40, hand engraved serial number, oval thumb print dust cover. All metal smooth with nice dark patina mixing with blue, very sharp. Just some minor roughness along the edge of the dust cover rail. Wood very good with just some scattered minor dents/scratches and an old varnish finish. There are a few very minor hairlines at the tip of the forestock which detract little. Complete and original in every respect and a desirable Winchester in equally desirable condition.Auction Info
