Cased Colt Model 1860 New Model Army or Holster Revolver, with Fluted Cylinder Cased Colt Model 1860 New Model Army or Holster Revolver, with Fluted CylinderSerial number 1525. .44 caliber, 6-shot fluted cylinder with naval engagement roll scene. 7 1/2-inch round barrel with brass blade front sight. Top of barrel stamped

Left side of frame marked "Colts/Patent." Four screw frame, cut for shoulder stock. Blued, with case-hardened frame, hammer, and loading lever, with silver-plated brass triggerguard strap and silver-plated steel backstrap. Army size grips of varnished walnut.
Accessories of varnished mahogany case, lined in burgundy velvet. Embossed stand of arms powder flask, blued steel double cavity bullet mold, tin of Eley Bros. percussion caps with green paper label and in paper wrapper, packet of combustible envelope cartridges by Colt's Cartridge Works, miscellaneous round lead projectiles, and key.
Because of the demand for the early Model 1860 Army revolvers for the Civil War, a cased set in the remarkable condition of no. 1525 is extremely rare and desirable.

Excellent. 98% bright blue with minor patina and light storage marks. Vibrant case hardened colors. Cylinder retains 95% bright blue with some age patina. 100% varnish on grips. Silver on gripstraps 99%. Case and accessories fine to excellent.
