Painting: Mounted French Cuirassier, 19th Century. Oil on canvas, 17.75" x 14.5", framed to an overall size of 25" x 22". The painting shows a mounted French Cuirassier, sword drawn, riding past a shattered artillery piece and a dead Prussian soldier. Storm clouds fill the sky and a mountaintop castle is in the background. Very evocative. The painting is unsigned. Damage to the frame and repairs to the canvas.Auction Info
