Description

Armor: Antique Indo-Persian Islamic Helmet Kulah-Khud, Eighteenth Century. The helmet has a hemi-spherical skull formed of a hand forged steel plate with a stout mounted long spike at the top, a pair of plume-holders, sliding nasal (needs loosening), original neck-defense camail of chain mail of rounded links, and remnants of cloth lining. The skull is etched over its entire surface with Persian floral designs and a broad band of calligraphic script and heightened in gold koftgari. The height from the top of the spike to the bottom of the mail is 26" and it is 7.5" in diameter. A few broken or missing links, light surface rust, else, fine.
