Description

European Hunting Crossbow Circa 17th Century. Stock 42¾"; prod 28½". Constructed in a style similar to that used in Germany, France, Italy, and Flanders, this remarkable crossbow features a heavy iron prod mounted to the stock with iron fittings, woven hemp bowstring, iron trigger, trigger guard and stirrup. The wood stock has brass decoration and reinforcement. The bolt track is reinforced with brass. Condition: Very good. Moderate age wear and patina. Functionality undetermined. Some parts missing or broken yet it remains a handsome example of early European armament. Requires 3rd Party Shipping.
