Description
Composite London Marked Fullstock Percussion Rifle. Unserialized, approximately .54 caliber, 29 1/4-inch part octagon barrel with brass blade front sight. Dove-tailed rear sight. Decorated hammer and lock which is marked: LONDON WARRANTED. Brass furniture, tiger maple stock with carved cheekrest. Hardwood ramrod. Large patchbox with note drawing reader's attention to an inked signature under the butt plate which reads: S. HINES MADE THIS RIFLE IN NOV. 60.Condition: Good as configured. Barrel with a heavy gray-brown patina and patches of pitting. Lock with a darker patina and scattered pitting. Patchbox screws are replacements. Stock is a nicely done, smooth, modern replacement.
