Description
Very Rare U.S. 3.8-Inch James Canister Round. This James canister round is another of the rare artillery projectiles of the Civil War and is seldom seen in this good of a condition. The round is complete with the James Type 1 sabot and the tin cylinder wrapped in canvas. There is some minor wear and dirt to the canvas wrap and the top rim of the cylinder has some minor dents around the edge. There are also 3 small dents on the face of the iron top plate. The canvas is still strongly attached and free of any tears. This is a good solid example of a rare round.Auction Info
