Description

Very Fine Civil War Period Moore Seven Shot .32 Caliber Rimfire Revolver with scarce markings, #6875. Manufactured 1861-1863. A very popular revolver with Union officers during its short production span and the subject of an interesting book in 1902 by Charles Manderson titled The Twin Seven Shooters. This example bears the very scarce "Manf. For Smith & Wesson By Moore's Pat. Firearms Co." barrel markings. Very fine condition retaining 60% of the original bright blue and the engraved brass frame with 40% of the original silver. Excellent bore, mechanically perfect, crisp markings. Walnut grips retain 95% of the original varnish with just some holster wear along the bottom edges. Exceptionally nice example of this scarce and attractive Civil War revolver.
