Description

U.S. Spur (US-18): Scarce Eagle Officers Spur.
This spur has chain links holding the strap plates that are typical of the 1840's or earlier, and could be Mexican War. It has the Federal shield on the neck, another indication of an earlier spur. The copper rowel could be an Indian Head penny, and may be a replacement. What looks to be the original leather has a Japanned iron roller buckle. All eagle style spurs are desirable, and this fine example is no exception.
