US 3.59 Inch Six Pounder Canister. Fired from a six pounder smoothbore, 3.67 inch caliber gun. A round used extensively during the Civil War. Short pattern that measures 6.75 inches. Tin cylinder perfect with soldered seam. Wood sabot with just one minor chip along the edge. The top is crimped over an iron plate. Very nice example of a very scarce projectile.
