Unusually Nice GAR Kepi, circa 1880, with a Gold Bullion and Red Velvet 5th Corps Badge Embroidered on the Top and "142" Embroidered in a Wreath on the Front. 3/8" wide functional chinstrap, GAR side buttons, short tarred unstitched visor. Black silk lining with silver embossed maker's label and 1 ¼" brown leather sweat band. Some typical texturing to the tarred finish on the visor with some adhering buts of newspaper, otherwise about perfect.Auction Info
