Description
Untouched Condition John Brown Pike #445 with Original Full Length Haft. Completely untouched with dark smooth patina on blade, guard and ferrule. The ferrule crisply numbered 445, with no other numbers visible [Further detailed evaluation has revealed a number "5" on the tang just visible between the guard which may be the final digit in the "445" serial number]. The classic 9 1/2" leaf shaped blade with just a couple of small spots of very light pitting else perfect. Approximately 1/4" chip at the tip, obviously very old. The original 71" long wooden haft, which flares slightly toward the base which is rounded, with dark rich untouched patina and perfect condition. Wonderful untouched example of this iconic relic of Brown's historic Harpers Ferry raid.Auction Info
