Description

Ulysses S. Grant Celluloid Reunion Badge "Roll of Honor Siege of Vicksburg". Approximately 1.75" x 3", made by Whitehead & Hoag, Newark, New Jersey. Pin back gilt frame hanger with a celluloid center bearing two crossed American flags and "Army Corp". Below, suspended by delicate chain links is a celluloid Model 1858 canteen with a portrait of Grant on the front captioned "Unconditional Surrender". The reverse reads "Roll of Honor / Siege of / Vicksburg. Miss. / May 18th to July 4th 1863 / and 100 / Other Engagements". An interesting, atypical specimen, in excellent condition.
