Description
Sharps Model 1853 .52 Caliber Percussion Breechloading Carbine Serial #10296 21 1/2" barrel smooth and brown with a 3/4" area of pitting near the muzzle. Frame is smooth and shows traces of case colors, hammer with a small area of pitting on the face. Strong tight action, bore is dark with well-defined rifling. Brass band, butt plate and patchbox. All markings are light but readable. Stock with an untouched patina excellent condition showing a few minor dents and scratches, retaining the original carbine bar but missing its ring. A nice untouched example of this scarce Sharps slant breech carbine.Auction Info
