Philip Sheridan: Assorted Ephemera. 1) Cabinet card by C. M. Bell of Washington, D.C. 2) 3 1/4" x 2 1/4" form signed by Sheridan dated 1879 (affixed to album page and trimmed to size). 3) August 6, 1864 report by Sheridan to Chief of Staff Halleck, written in pencil by a clerk, detailing the movements of the enemy around Hagerstown and Martinsburg ("I find things somewhat confused but will soon straighten them out.") 4) Signature of Sheridan on a small card ("P. H. Sheridan Lt General U S Army"). 5) 1871 Brady cabinet card of Grand Duke Alexis. 6) 1872 Sheridan ALS to General Belknap discussing the completion of a buffalo hunt attended by Sheridan and "his Imperial Highness the Grand Duke". Buffalo Bill Cody served as the guide on this trip with George Armstrong Custer serving as escort.
