Metropolitan Arms Co .36 Caliber Percussion Revolver, Backstrap Engraved "Capt. John F. Cooper 15th Va. Cav" Matching serial number "4767", the backstrap only numbered "7". 7 1/2" barrel, mechanically fine, iron is generally smooth and gray / dark with areas of roughness on the cylinder. Grips exhibit a small crack and general wear. Inscribed in period engraving down the backstrap "Capt. John F. Cooper 15th Va. Cav."

John F. Cooper mustered into service June 20, 1861. Elected Captain of Co F 15th Va, May 1, 1862.
Captured at Luray Va, Sept, 24, 1864, and held at Point Lookout Md and Fort Delaware.
