Description
Fine US Cavarly Officer's Slouch Hat.This soft, black felt officer's slouch hat has all the hallmarks of a Civil War classic: wide brim bound with silk edging, tall crown and deep crosshatched leather sweat band. Measures approximately 13-inches wide and stands about 5 1/2-inches high. Bullion cavalry officer's insignia sewn to the front and gold & black cords with heavy gold acorns. The hat is in great condition for its age with minor stains, few moth holes. Section of the leather sweatband partially detached near folding side. Some staining overall. A great representative example of a Cavalry officer's hat.
