Description

Early Civil War M1860 Spencer Caliber .56-52 Seven Shot Repeating Carbine #22129. All metal smooth and dark with remains of a very old charcoal blue finish. Excellent bore, excellent markings. The tip of the right finger of the cartridge guide (¼") is broken, otherwise mechanically perfect and retains 50% of the original case colors on the breech block. Interesting period alteration with the front sight blade replaced with a small elliptical section of an Indian head penny. Wood very good with both inspectors' cartouches visible, just showing some honest use with a few minor dents/chips, the initials E. E. neatly carved on the left side of the butt. The gun is overall untouched. The butt swivel is missing but the base plate is present, easily replaced. A very nice early war Spencer.
