Confederate Thomas Griswold & Co New Orleans Light Artillery Sword With Brass Scabbard 31 1/4" curved blade with a mostly smooth gray finish mixing with scattered dark staining and pitting at the tip. Characteristic ricasso with the fuller extending slightly into the top. The ricasso is marked Thomas Griswold & Co New Orleans. Retains the original leather washer. Classic brass hilt with distinctive pommel cap about perfect with nice dark patina. Leather wrapped grip and twisted brass wire wrap excellent with some flaking on the leather wrap. Brass scabbard showing a nice untouched dark patina, missing its throat, exhibits a dent below the upper ring mount. Ring mounts show a few tiny casting flaws. A beautiful untouched Confederate sword.
