Description
Civil War: XVII Army Corps Badge Belonging to Edward S. Cooke, 76th Illinois Volunteer Infantry.Gilt 27 x 27 mm cross captioned ILL 76th Vol INF, with unknown log or tree branch motif applied to the center. Reverse engraved "E. S. Cooke / Sergeant". Cooke enlisted on August 22, 1862 as a Private and mustered into "H" Company, Illinois 76th Infantry. He was promoted to Sergeant and mustered out on July 22, 1865 at Galveston, Texas.
Condition: Very good.
