Description

Civil War Union Model 1859 Forage Cap Body of the cap is in fine condition with no damage, leather chinstrap is stiff and crazed, leather visor displays moderate crazing. Chin strap held fast with two matching federal eagle buttons. Interior sweatband is missing, brown cotton lining is torn and shows losses. Burlap reinforced band measure 1 1/2". Crown displays what appears to be the original insignia for Company B 22nd Infantry, horn reverse loops are held in place with leather thong.
