Civil War: IX Army Corps Badge in the Original Box of Issue and Named to Private Charles Brown, 56th Regiment of the Massachusetts Veteran Volunteers.

Plated planchet, 35 x 35 mm, suspended via a blue silk ribbon from a plated pinback hanger captioned 56th Regt. M.V.Vol. The badge is complete with the box of issue with the name "Brown C H" written in ink on the bottom. Charles H. Brown enlisted as a Private on January 8, 1864 and mustered into "F" Company, Massachusetts 56th Infantry. He is listed as having been wounded at Petersburg, Virginia on August 19, 1864.
