Description
Civil War: Group of Six Veteran Association Badges.Includes: 1) Massachusetts 5th Infantry Veteran Association badge featuring a red and white enamel 18th Army Corps drop maker marked J.K. Davison, Phil. The badge measures 30 mm x 30-mm and is backed by a light blue ribbon suspended from a silver metal pendant. 2) 20th Army Corps cap badge maker marked ZORAK SILVER. The badge measures 41 x 41-mm and is ornately engraved with foliate designs. Two small brass loops are soldered on the reverse. 3) 18th Army Corps badge named to Capt. Henry D. Sullivan, Company "D", 44th Massachusetts Volunteers, Second New England Guard. The badge measures 32 x 32-mm, a "D" at the center set in red glass enamel. The reverse is engraved "H D Sullivan". The badge is suspended from a replaced blue silk ribbon with small gilt state seal of Massachusetts device and suspended from a 22-mm gilt 44th New England Guard button pendant. Sullivan enlisted on May 26, 1862 as a private and mustered into "A" Company, Massachusetts 4th Battalion Infantry. He mustered out on May 31, 1862 and was commissioned in September, 1862 into "D" Company 44th Massachusetts Infantry. He mustered out as a Captain on June 18, 1863. 4) 10th Legion New York Veteran Volunteers badge, featuring a 30-mm plated drop with enamel 18th Army Corps staff badge suspended from a plated pendant with red silk ribbon backing. 5) 35th New Jersey Veteran Volunteers 16th Army Corp badge, 30 x 44-mm, Braxmar, New York maker's mark. 6) 14th Army Corps badge, pinback, pressed brass, 21 x 34-mm.
