Civil War: Cavalry Officers' and Artillery Officers' Hat Insignia.Includes: 1) Cavalry Officers' oval hat badge, 2 ¾ x 1 ¾-inches, yellow velvet backing with gold wire border, gilded-brass crossed saber insignia and numeral 1. Black wool backing. 2) Artillery Officers' hat insignia, 2 ¾ x 2-inches, black velvet with gilded-brass crossed cannon device and the numeral 8.
