Bullet-Struck Book, The Life of General Washington, approximately 300 pp., 5" x 3", blue boards, opened in custom frame to pages 140-141 showing the gaping path of an embedded minié ball. Since the bullet did not pierce the book, it likely saved the owner's life. No doubt the subject of this biography would have been saddened by the circumstances of its ruination.Auction Info
