Battlefield Pick-up Confederate Turned Wallpaper Cover Fragment, 2" x 4", partially addressed to "Mr J Shaw...Comp B 36th...Culp(eper)", the verso inscribed "Kellys / Ford, Va / Nov. 8. 1863 / Field taken / by the 3rd Corps / E. M. B." This item came from the collection of E. M. Barton, a relative of Clara Barton's. Fair condition. Kelly's Ford on the Rappahannock River was a hotly contested crossing and was the site of a major engagement on March 17, 1863.Auction Info
