Description
Armed Union Private 1/6th Plate Tintype. The resolute young soldier is this scarce image is well-armed with an imported Austrian Lorenz rifle and its wickedly long sword bayonet. A knapsack and heavy wool overcoat suggest that the subject is about to embark on a winter campaign. The image looks quite clean to the naked eye, however under high magnification there are numerous tiny spots on the emulsion. Overall very good condition. In half case missing lid.Auction Info
