Description

32-Star Naval Jack, Circa 1858-1859. Approximately 74-inches by 52-inches overall. Blue-wool field with thirty-two 6 ½-inch tall polished cotton stars and "B.H.S." in 13 ½-inch tall polished cotton letters. The stars and letters are hand-stitched. The consignor states that this jack was purchased 30 years ago from a Civil War collector on the eastern shore of Maryland, who surmised the flag might be from the Baltimore Harbor Shipyard.

Condition: Very good. With only a few scattered small holes and tears.
