Description
British Tower Single Shot Breech Loading Rifle. Serial no. 5382[breech] and 175[bayonet lug], approximately .60 caliber, 31-inch barrel. Polished steel finish. Military blade front and ladder rear sights. Hinged breech block with extractor and marked with Japanese characters. Hammer with hinged and floating firing pin. Steel furniture including one sling swivel mounted into stock below lower tang. Varnished hardwood stock.Condition: Metal a gray patina blending with areas of light frosting. Stock with numerous dents and one crack at rear of ill-fitting lockplate. Numerous cracks around the breech block. One barrel band absent. Action good. Bright bore. Ramrod absent.
