Description
18th Century Brass Barrel British Blunderbuss Pistol with Snap Bayonet. 11½" overall with cannon-turned 6¼" round barrel that flares to a .75 caliber bore at the front. Brass frame nicely engraved with arms panoplies with maker "Twigg/ London". Ramrod mounted with brass ferrules on the left side of the barrel. British proofs on the underside of the barrel. Mechanically perfect. All metal parts including 4½" snap bayonet, trigger guard, which acts as latch for bayonet when folded, and lock parts with even coat of light pitting, detracting little. Wood grip about perfect with old coat of varnish. Correct and original in every respect with no repairs or restoration. Very impressive.Auction Info
