U.S. Navy Sailor's Cap from the 20th Century Armored Cruiser U.S.S. Pittsburgh. Wool cap with silk ribbons and gold embroidered "U.S.S. PITTSBURG" [common period mis-spelling] in front. Pair of red, yellow and black tassels hanging from blue interior. U.S.S. Pittsburgh. The origin of this cap is probably from the U.S. armored cruiser U.S.S. Pennsylvania whose name was changed to the U.S.S. Pittsburgh. Condition: Very good. Moderate age wear. Gold thread has faded. Interior with light scuffs.
