Description
Excellent Anson Mills Second Pattern McKeever Cartridge Box.6 1/2 x 4-inches. Brown leather with brass hinge, stud and closure reinforcement. Embossed "US" on the front flap. Lined with integral woven web loops to accommodate twenty 45-70 rounds. This example has small brass plaques marked ANSON MILLS / PAT. DEC. 28 80 mounted to the inside of each half. The closure strap is stamped Watervliet Arsenal. Both leather belt loop straps are present on the reverse.
Condition: Some wear and loss of leather surface on the closure strap, otherwise showing light wear and in generally excellent condition.
