Description

U.S. Model 1881 Parts Helmet. A regulation pattern 1881 Federal helmet with pressed felt body and Horstmann 1902 contract stamp on the back side of the leather liner. The helmet is a collection of various original or incorrect parts including silver infantry side buttons, New York National Guard front plate, and fraternal ball top. The felt body displays a few shallow dents near the crown, has a small hole in the top rear quadrant, and the sweatband is loose in areas, otherwise it is in very good condition and perfect for proper restoration.
