Description

Russian Imperial Grenadier's Mitre. Russian military cap in the style of 17th/18th century. Body of white and blue wool trimmed in gold and black. Gilt brass stamped front plate with large double headed Imperial Eagle with Russian inscription over top. Center of plate has a red and white enameled cross device. Reverse with white wool band and blue wool crown, trimmed in yellow and blue borders. Three large gilded grenades mounted to base. White and blue tassle at top. Liner is white linen with leather sweatband. 13-inches high. Condition: Good to very good. Light soiling and age wear.
