Indo-Persian Kulah-Khud Helmet.

The helmet has a semi-spherical skull formed of a hand forged steel plate with a stout mounted long spike at the top [about 5-inches from base to tip], a pair of plume-holders, sliding nasal/face guard, original neck-defense of chain mail of rounded links, no cloth lining present. The skull is etched over its entire surface with Persian floral designs and a broad band of calligraphic script and heightened. The height from the top of the spike to the bottom of the mail is roughly 25-inches and it is 7 1/2-inches in diameter. Helmet weighs approximately 3 lbs.

Condition: Good to very good with moderate age wear. Mottled gray patina overall. Various broken or missing links, light surface rust, else, fine. Rust and heavy wear underneath.
