Description
Belgian Cuirassier Officers' Helmet.Silvered metal body with gilded-brass comb. The comb is ornately decorated with floral designs. This example is complete with horsehair brush and long horsehair tail trailing from the rear of the comb. The front of the comb features a separately applied silver flaming bomb. The left side of the body has a gilded-brass plume holder supporting a large red feather plume. The wide chinscales are mounted via large bosses decorated with silver flaming bombs. Complete with a nine-finger brown leather liner.
Condition: Excellent. A few trivial shallow dents. From the collection of J.T. Hamrick, M.D.
