Infantry Tactics Book Identified To Union Soldier.Tactics book, published 1862, NY, 183 pp., 3.5" x 5.25", scattered age, else fine. This book is identified as being owned by Sgt. Eli Fitch of the 144th NY Infantry. On the second page, in pencil it reads "Eli Fitch 1st Sgt. Co B 144th NYV". The 144th saw action at Morris Island and Fort Wagner in South Carolina.
