U.S. Springfield 1864 Trapdoor Rifle.
Unserialized, .54 caliber, 36-inch barrel with fixed front sight and folding rear sight. Blued finish. Top of breech marked: 1866. Lock marked: 1864, (eagle) and U.S. / SPRINGFIELD. Smooth hardwood stock with three barrel bands. Two sling swivels and leather shoulder sling. Metal ramrod and U.S. marked buttplate.

Condition: Very good. Finish primarily a smooth grey patina with noticeable signs of handling wear and areas of pitting. Scattered scratches, scuffs and dings present to wood. Action good. Lightly pitted bore.
