Description

Unmarked Heavy Barrel Half-Stock Percussion Rifle.
Unserialized, approximately .50 caliber, 32 1/2-inch octagonal barrel with fixed front and rear sights. Scroll engraved receiver, hammer and upper tang. Smooth hardwood straight stock with pewter fore-end tip, brass triggerguard, scroll engraved hinged patchbox and brass crescent buttplate. Wood ramrod.
Provenance: National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum. Sold to benefit the Museum's collections and acquisitions.

Condition: Good. Finish primarily a mottled grey patina, with noticeable signs of wear and pitting. Heavy dings, scuffs and bruising to wood. Re-blued hammer. Few small cracks to wrist. Some wood loss along edge of right side of fore-end. Action needs adjustment. Dark bore.
