Description
Colt Lightning Slide Action Rifle.Serial no. 73767, .32 caliber, 26-inch octagonal barrel with fixed front sight and rear elevation sight. Blued and case-hardened finish. Smooth walnut straight stock and fore-end. Crescent metal buttplate. Manufactured in 1894. Original brass museum inventory tag attached: J.M. DAVIS / 7240 / MEMORIAL.
Sold to Benefit The JM Davis Collection at the JM Davis Arms and Historical Museum, Part II.
Condition: Very good. Finish primarily a grey age patina with noticeable signs of handling wear and areas of pitting. Scattered scuffs, dings and bruising to wood. LOO stamped to left side of stock. Action crisp. Strong bore.
