Winchester Model 1887 Single Shot Rifle.
Serial no. 70774, .38 caliber, 30-inch octagonal number 3 barrel with dovetailed, brass-tipped front sight. Rear sight slot filled. Blued and case-hardened finish. Tang-mounted Lyman's New Model rear sight. Two-piece walnut stock. Fore-arm with horn tip. Numeral 3 on inside of forearm. Barrel with identical numeral opposite. Manufactured 1883.

Condition: Good. Retaining traces of blue finish the balance a thin, mottled blue-gray patina. Scattered staining and spotting to barrel. Receiver still showing traces of case-hardening mixed with age patina and light spotting. Stock good with age patina and light wear. No losses. Both sides of wrist with small holes, now filled, possibly once decorative. Butt plate showing light pitting. Action good. Bore good with light pitting.
